Public Tours - Frequently Asked Questions

What are your COVID-19 policies?

AAD follows the guidelines put in place by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and we ask that our travelers do as well.  AAD will not ask for your vaccination status or require you to show proof. However, note that some of our travel destinations do require vaccination and/or the use of face masks, so please do your own research.  Feel free to ask us and we will gladly share the information we have at the time of booking. Keep watch for any new updates due to ever-changing requirements.

AAD cannot prevent you or your group from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while traveling with All About Destinations, LLC. We do everything possible to keep the motorcoach cleaned & sanitized during & in-between times of travel as recommended by the CDC.

How do I book for a tour/reserve a seat?

You can reserve a seat on this website by clicking the payment button for the tour you are interested in. A payment for the full amount or a deposit is required to reserve seats, see specific tour details for more information.

Who will lead the program?

All of our tours are lead by an AAD Tour Manager.  Occasionally, we hire local guides who will lead the group on a limited basis.

What is the role of the Tour Manager?

All of our standard touring programs include a Tour Manager who will accompany your group 24 hours a day—from your group's arrival until your departure. The services of our Tour Managers are exclusive to each group—they stay in the same hotels as you, eat dinner with you, and are available to help with planning of evening activities, if desired.  Their job is to attend to your group’s needs at all times.  In all our destinations, we choose guides who are qualified to meet the unique needs of each particular group.  We take great pride in matching guides to groups based on age, gender, or sporting experience.

What will our Tour Manager be like?

AAD Tour Managers are often the highlight of the trip!  Our tour managers are trained by All About Destinations and certified before escorting a group.  Many have other careers that allow them to present interdisciplinary approaches to subject material and to make connections that extend beyond traditional classroom instruction.  They include educators, scientists, writers, artists, teachers, singers, musicians, art historians, translators, and more.  They all have fascinating stories and are collectively multilingual, college-educated, well-traveled, passionate about the destinations in which they work, and enthusiastic about working with young people.  In specific destinations, we hire licensed/certified local guides.

What is included in my tour cost?

AAD handles every detail of your tour from start to finish including, reservations for ground and/or air transportation, hotels, meals, attractions, and events.  Your itinerary will denote anything that is not included in the cost of the tour.

Are children allowed on public tours?

All our tours are family friendly and we welcome children 3 years and older. All passengers, including children, must reserve a seat. Children age 12 and over are considered an adult when booking.  Children 16 and under must be always accompanied by an adult.

Can I get a copy of the tour itinerary?

Absolutely! Tour itineraries are available for download on the specific tour pages of our website. The Tour Manager will also have printed copies of the tour itinerary available the day of the tour.

Where are the pick-up/drop-off locations?

Pick-up/Drop-off locations vary per tour, see specific tour details for more information. Our main location is Wal-Mart in Elkins.  Other locations may be added as needed.

When does boarding begin?

Boarding begins up to 15 minutes before departure time.  If you are not there at the departure time, we reserve the right to offer your seat to another passenger and/or depart without you. The amount you paid will not be refunded!

How does seating work on the motorcoach?

We don't assign seat or seat numbers, so you can take any available seat on the bus. However, upon request we do reserve the front row seats for customers with disabilities.  The first seats on the right side of the coach (facing the front of the coach) are reserved for the Tour Manager.

On overnight trips, will adults room together?

When reserving your seat/ticket, you will have the option to select roommates (based on double, triple or quad occupancy).  If you do not reserve a single room, we will assign you at least one other room mate for the duration of the tour.

What kinds of hotels will we stay in?

AAD takes pride in providing safe, quality accommodations for all programs.  Hotels are licensed by local authorities, inspected by All About Destinations staff or partners for cleanliness, quality, and location, and rated by Program Leaders on an ongoing basis.  All of our domestic hotels are nationally recognized chain hotels including Marriott, Hilton, Sheraton, Holiday Inn, and Hampton Inn.  For international travel, All About Destinations generally uses centrally located 3- and 4-star hotels that have excellent access to sites and transportation.
